ADHD and ASD Screening Hertford
The screening and comprehensive assessment process will help to unpick this and determine the appropriate diagnosis and intervention for your child.
What is ADHD?
ADHD, or Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, is a neurodevelopmental disorder
characterized by persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.
Children with ADHD may struggle with tasks that require sustained attention, often becoming easily
distracted, missing details, or having difficulty organising tasks.
They might also be excessively fidgety, restless, and act impulsively without considering consequences.
What Causes ADHD?
The exact cause of ADHD is unknown but is believed to involve a combination of genetic, environmental, and neurological factors.
Early diagnosis and intervention, including behavioural therapies, educational support, and medications, can help manage symptoms.
